5-Hour Energy - Pink Lemonade Review

Cost: $2.99 Cost Per Ounce:$1.50 Active Ingredients:Caffeine, Taurine, B-Vitamins Taste Rating:9.2 Kick Rating:9.5 Final Judgment Rating:9.5 Energy Drink Ratings Explained
5-Hour Energy - Pink Lemonade Review:It has been quite some time since I have posted a new Energy Drink Review... In fact I was actually contemplating retiring from reviews for awhile since I have really not had the time to keep up religiously like I used to. Even with my email box full of review requests I couldn't muster the time to do any new reviews. That is until I saw the new Pink Lemonade 5-hour Energy in Upper Michigan while on my way out to the backcountry for a couple days. The bright pink bottle seemed like it was glowing, bebkoning me to buy it, in fact I swear it was calling my name even before I turned into the gas station. Upon further inspection of the 5-hour Energy Pink Lemonade bottle I see that it is tied to the Avon Foundation for Women Breast Cancer crusade and that 5-hour will be donating a minimum of $75,000 to the charity. Pretty sweet, but upon furthe inspection of the 5-hour website I see that they will be giving $0.05 for every bottle sold to the Avon Foundation. That may not sound like a lot, but if you have seen any of their latest commercials, you will remember that they sell 9 million of those little buggers per week and since 5-hour Energy will donate five cents through December 31, 2012 that amount could add up quick. The addition of the new Pink Lemonade flavor means that they now have 9 different varieties for you to choose from... 6 original strength, 2 extra strength and a decaf. So hypothetically let's say that the new Pink Lemonade sells 1 million bottles per week... donation period lasts for 12 weeks. So 12 million bottles at five cents would mean a donation of $600,000. Now that's hypothetical, but the strength of the product and success of past new flavors leads me to believe it is entirely possible. Well enough fluff, let's move on to the review to see if the new 5-hour Energy Pink Lemonade was worth coming out of semi retirement for...

5-Hour Energy - Pink Lemonade Review: Taste Well the last flavor that 5 hour Energy came out with was extra strength grape and the flavor seems to have been well received by the market as well as with this reviewer. Now it is fairly obvious that the new Pink Lemonade is geared towards the female demographic, but hey I am more than man enough to try out the new flavor. And boy was I glad I did. The new shot tastes exactly like what you would expect a Pink Lemonade flavored drink to taste like... Pink Lemonade. Well hello Mr. Obvious, that was so enriching of a taste review. Well hard to describe a Pink Lemonade flavor I guess. I can tell you that it is not a sweet Pink Lemonade, but that the Lemonade flavoring is quite strong. As far as a medicinal aftertaste there was absolutely none. After 8 years of being the leader in energy shots, I think they got the flavoring down pat! This is by far the best tasting shot they have come out with...although the pomegranate is a close second. Taste Rating 9.0

5-Hour Energy - Pink Lemonade Review: Kick Well I normally take energy shots before some kind of physical activity and since I was on my way to a backpacking trip the new shot would be put to the test immediately. After a 4 hour drive I arrived at my destination... stiff from sitting and a little tired from the drive I cracked open the bottle and in two sips I quickly finished the shot. Now I was ready to take off on my 22 mile hike to get to camp. In the terrain the hike would take me about 6 hours. All I can say is I am glad I took the shot as the kick was just as good as all the other flavors. I felt focused and energized after the long drive. The hike took just under 6 hours and I still had plenty of energy to setup camp for the night and still enjoy the sunset on the shores of Lake Superior. Kick Rating 9.5

5-Hour Energy - Pink Lemonade Review: Final Judgment Great new flavor and I am more than glad that it called out to me at the gas station. I have missed reviewing and this was by far the best way to come back. I even managed to donate $0.05 to the Avon Foundation for Women Breast Cancer Crusade which you can learn more about here. To sum up, best tasting flavor yet. Energy formula remains solid. Supplied the focus and energy I needed without the crash and without the calories I don't want. Final Judgment - 9.5

Cstrong

Another Denver drink here, and this one was made right here (or there) in Colorado in Colorado Springs which is about an hour from Denver. There's 5 towns with the name springs in them in Colorado but Colorado Springs in the only one that doesn't have a fresh water spring and it was also the first land established in Colorado. Another fact is you guys probably don't give a shit about any of that.

Taste- Well I don't give two shits about this! Because its just a poopy red bullshit clone with nothing notable.

RATING- 6/10

Buzz- 1210 mgs taurine, glucuronolactone, caffeine, l-arginine, ginseng, tribulus terrestris, horny goat weed and maca root. alone with 100% rda B vitamins and 50% B3. I just wish that there was a company that would give a legit amount of some of those rare ingredients that you don't find in most drinks to where they would actually work good, because otherwise its just a waste and the drink just looks good but doesn't work as good. But I understand company's don't want to put all that money into drinks for those expensive ingredients when people would appreciate or realize they're in there, and would rather keep the price down and get more sales. I just wish it was the other way, I would rather pay a buck more. Tribulus terrestris is a new one. It has long been a constituent in tonics in Indian ayurveda practice, and used as an aphrodisiac. And like I say most of the time, this gets points for good ingredients but not enough of them.

Speed: Ethanol

This drink seems like its getting more professional. Better cans, more flavors and I'm seeing it at more places. Too bad its not that good and they could have choose a more appropriate name and especially for the flavor. I don't think someone wants to drink something that tastes like gasoline.

Taste- A rough shitty "green" flavor that has no real flavor properties. It tastes cheap and its probably because it is. But I mean if you like sugary drinks I'm sure you will enjoy this somewhat, but for people who really care about what they're drinking wont like this. The name definitely does fit it.

RATING-6/10

Buzz- 381 mgs taurine. 39.9 mgs caffeine. 24 mgs inositol. 29 mgs glucuronolactone. 5.9 mgs sucralose. 0.97 mgs vitamin B2 9.9 mgs B6 4.5 mgs B5 2.36 mgs B3 and 12 mgs B12. Thats the most random set of numbers for a drink Ive ever seen. I wonder what the point of that is. We can finally see what they put in these and its not enough.

Arma

This drink is hot in Chicago. All the liquor stores, smoke shops and 7-11's have it. Don't have me why because its made in California.

Taste- Guys, sometimes this is really hard. Describing a taste isnt as simple as you think, but I would say I still do a pretty good job at it. This one just taste like an energy drink pure and simple. But I cant say it tastes like monster, rockstar or red bull. Fuck if anything it might taste like all three combined. Its tart but not too much, its got a little of that sweet apple taste and its kind of heavy at the same time. Its sweetened with organic dried cane syrup which tells you this is a quality drink. Maybe thats what they were going for, a combination of all three because they could decide which to mimic. But it worked, I like it.

RATING- 7.5/10

Buzz- This gave me one of those rushes where you can tell it wasnt only shitty caffeine kicking in. It was a nice real, powerful boost and might last you they rest of the day (if you arnt prone to energy drinks like me) 25 mgs l-glutamine, l-caritine, inositol and ginseng. 600 mgs glucuronolactone. 200 mgs gaurana (NICE!) 80 mgs caffeine. 1000 mgs taurine and 100% of all your b vitamins. Major points for the high amount of gaurana which is a natural form of caffeine that is twice as powerful as it!

Spazz Juice

Today me and my girlfriend went to Chicago to celebrate our two year anniversary and I just so happen to find some new drinks at the shopping place in navy peer. I found 4 new boston american drinks in a candy store. And yes this is my girl friend, she doesn't look too happy because she got sick :/

Taste- This company is always changing their formula and now its something completely new. Blueberry. Its a candy like blue berry taste with that awesome cotton candy type taste. Good and sugary, perfect in a candy store. I have no complaints on it.

RATING-9/10

Buzz- 50% rda vitamin B3, B12, B6 and 25% B2.1000 mgs taurine. 120 mgs caffeine. 50 mgs inositol and 25 mgs gaurana and ginseng.

Whoopass: Sugar Free

I knew they discontinued the original whoopass awhile ago but didnt know until recently they just changed the drink up completely and it sucks because while I was in Denver I only grabbed the sugar free version because I thought it was just the same drink with a different can. Huge disappointment that changed one of the most awesome cans to this generic looking shit.

Taste- Your typical sugar free energy drink that's trying to be healthy. Its made with green tea for antioxodents and chatechins and you can taste it. It has that "steaz, celcious, starbucks refreshers" type taste to it while trying to pull of a berry flavor. Its nothing like the original sadly which was pure neon "bad for you tasting" energy drink deliciousness.

RATING-4.5/10

Buzz- This makes up for all the disappointment here. I was impressed with so many ingredients you don't see often enough in energy drinks. 1000 mgs taurine. 150 mgs l-arginine. 200 mgs l-carnitine. 100 mgs l-lysine and caffeine. 80 mgs green tea polyphenois. 60 mgs green tea catchins. 50 mgs yerba mate and 20 mgs grape polyphenois along with your daily dose of all 4 B vitamins of course. The polyphenois and catechins are great but you could probably get more if you actually drank green tea or had some grapes. The other ingredients are given the correct amount of to give you a quality energy run which would be great for actually using like in sports or fitness.

Monster: Zero Ultra

And this is the very special review I was talking about! Found at a 7-11 in downtown Denver. According to the can people have been asking for a lighter tasting monster (which is a perfect idea). But even before I try it I know the best thing is the can. First off its white! And has beautiful decoration, also the can is textured. This is a drink you can be seen with, with class.

Taste- They sure did it. Its light and refreshing. Not thirst refreshing exactly but its pretty much like an absolute zero that actually tastes good and isn't so harsh which are the two reasons that drink blew. If I had to describe it perfect I would say its monsters closest drink to a pure sprite style citrus. But not exactly lemon lime, more of a different fruit tastes exactly like honey dew melon. Its nothing spectacular but its just what they wanted and I'm down with the idea.

RATING-8/10

Buzz- Just like some of their other drinks that say "we did this and that but still gave it a full load of the monster energy blend" they didn't but they said it again. This time they gave it the least amount of energy ingredients Ive ever seen in a monster drink. I'm assuming because they cant mask over the bad taste of all those ingredients with a strong flavor, which totally makes sense. 1,400 mgs taurine, ginseng, l-carnitine,glucuronolactone, inositol, gaurana and maltidextrin. 20 mgs vitamin B3. 10 mgs vitamin B5. 2 mgs B6 and 6 B12. What surprises me here is there is more ginseng and carnitine than caffeine. I dont think Ive ever seen that in an energy drink. But since this drink is still new I cant find out how much caffeine is in it, but it would be good to know.

U force: Cherry Limeade - Sugar Free

Hello folks! I'm out in the lovely Denver Colorado once again and of course I found some new drinks! I'm writing this review in the hotel lobby as fast as I can because I have to leave in 20 minuets to go to pikes peak. But I have a VERY awesome review for you next so look out!

Taste- I remember the original that I had got here a couple years ago and it was my favorite one. This one is pretty similar except for the fact that it has an old factory taste along with it. I had mine over ice which made it a lot better. I recommend that for any sugar free drink, drink it over ice and it wont be as bad.

RATING-5.5/10

Buzz- I don't have the can with me but I remember what it was. Just your average amount of the four B vitamins.

Rip it: Tribute

My friend from the service told me they give rip its out free. So now Ive been thinking about joining, ha, no way. Maybe if it was monster or something.

Taste- The first sip and I was disappointed, because I knew exactly what it was. Citrus x mixed with limewreckor. It has the foggy color and kind of filmy mouth feel with a taste that seems like it has poison in it like citrus x (which is very gross to me and that's why I don't ever buy that one) and the lime from limewreckor. Its not a bad combo but I hate when company's like mountain dew get lazy and instead of creating a new flavor they just mix two old ones. Mountain dew has been doing it with all their drinks since the 2nd dewmocracy and now they end up with dark berry which tastes 95% like voltage. Its cool if a person cant tell, and most of you wouldn't but I guess I'm just that good with my palette.

RATING-6.5/10

Buzz- Same rip it blend but they're putting a little bit more vitamin C and B12 but still keeping the ginseng out. A lot of company's are doing this now Ive noticed because you really need a high amount of B12 to do anything and the only drink that really has enough to work is wired B12 rush. 1010 mgs taurine. 100 mgs caffeine and inositol. 3 mgs gaurana. 70 mgs vitamin C. 2 mgs B2. 400 mgs folic acid and 10 mgs B12.

Killer Buzz: Livid

Finally wrapping up these reviews and Ill be left with nothing to review.

Taste- An average grape drink, I'm getting more adjusted to grape energy drinks. Its taken about 4 years but I'm starting to like them. All of these killer buzz drinks kind of have a similar trait, its a certain taste and mouth feel I don't know how to describe. Light maybe, so you could say this is a light grape flavor that will still satisfy your sweet tooth.

RATING-7/10

Buzz- Caffeine, taurine and a blend of 17 amino acids that they call the giant hornet amino acid. Used in ancient china it is said to give you the energy of a ragging hornet. Too bad there is no information on what those 17 but we know it comes from the larva secretion from the Asian giant hornet and its also what thdy live off of by regurgitating it and eating it. Killer Buzz: Dragon Spit

I really enjoy these drinks. A great company right here.

Taste- If I could taste dragon spit I know for a fact it would taste like this! It does taste exotic too. Its my favorite flavor from killer buzz with the red one in second. It has some mango taste but with a nice unique soda flavor. If I had the choice I would buy it often. Its nothing out of this world that I havnt tasted at least once before but its very well made.

Dollar energy drinks. I don't know how I feel about them. I feel there should be more of them but unless I only had a dollar I would rather buy any of the bigger brand drinks. Although there are a lot of drinks that are two or more dollars that are only worth a dollar, and this site can help you distinguish what ones like that to avoid.

Taste- I don't usually smell the drink before I taste it but I did on accident and it smelled like straight body odor. It made me not want to drink it at all. But I quit being a little bitch and drank it. Its another wanna be monster clone that ends up tasting more like redbull. When this happens that drink is just ruined. Combining drinks is good sometimes, but not redbull and monster. It tastes like a dollar.

Ex: Chill Out

Our very last drink from California. It took me basically the whole summer to review them. But its crazy how I haven't not had one now drink to review this summer and probably for awhile to continue. It almost feels like a blessing as a reviewer haha, because I'm usually always on a dry spell.

Taste- Its very apparent that this drink isn't flavored with anything and its basically just fructose (a natural sweetener from fruit sugars) and carbonated water. If you didn't know that it would be okay. Its like if they took sprite and removed the lemon lime flavor. You know exactly how it tastes now.

RATING-6/10

Buzz- If you have kept up on my blog by now (which you all should) :) you know how each of these ingredients work. But I found out that most of them come from the very old ages. Valerian from Italy and lemon balm from Greece. I needed to go to bed early but right when I was about to drink it I got pretty tired anyway for some reason. And afterwords I was just as tired. Maybe my body knew what was coming. Oh I forgot to mention the vitamin amounts, oh well I'm too tired now :)

Xenergy: Twisted Tangerine

I know Ive told you folks this before you cant eat pizza without a tasty beverage that just burns your throat. So I knew I needed to grab my last xenergy out of the fridge!

Taste- This drink is fucking great! It took me awhile to decide if I want to give it a ten or a 9 or 9.5. Now I cant just be throing tens out there and Im sure Ive only rated a handful of drinks with a ten on either buzz or taste and this is awesome but it didnt exactly blow my mind (but it was close). It tastes just like a dreamsicle but its sugar free and has a tangerine cream taste instead of just orange. It doesnt daul down nor can you taste the sugar free'ness. There is no bad after taste. The only small reason Im not giving it a ten or 9.5 is because its true it doesnt taste sugar free but its still strong and heavily carbinated where as more sugary drinks like an original monster are more smooth. But still if you see this drink buy it! The best xenergy for sure!

RATING-9/10

Buzz- 11.5 mgs of caffeine per ounce so that's about 170 per can. That's okay, and then 100% rda niacin. 80% B12. 260% B6 and 500% pantothenic acid which you never see. Its usually the least amount of the vitamins (around 50%)

Ex: Slim

Now I'm not one to usually procrastinate but this can and another ex have been in my trunk almost 3 months. Its pretty beat up for a full can. They just weren't appealing to me so I never wanted to review them. These were actually from the Cali reviews.

Taste- It tastes like the can. Slim and scraped up with a little bit of colorful flavor that looks or tastes bad. It actually feels like its burning your throat from the slimming igridients. I cant put my toung on the exact taste but its pretty gross. They do a bad job with hiding the artificial sweetener.

Taste-3/10

Buzz- I was mistaken, its not a slimming drink but just the sugar free version of the original. I wish we had healthy decent priced drinks like these for sale around here. I would slam one before working out. This is the first drink with kombucha (an ancient healthy food culture that contains organic acids and enzymes that may help your body find its natural balance, which promotes over all well being). Now that's an ingredient I want in my body. This drink contains 430 mgs kombucha, caffeine from gaurana and ginseng. Also a little less than average amount of all your B vitamins and vitamin C. Esteemed colleagues, it is with great pride that I present to you today a miracle of cross-species pollination, an invention of man, the scientist, and not of nature, a creature of unrivaled hybrid vigor. No, please! Remain seated! Its quite harmless, theres no need to...AAAAHH!!! Back, back I say, you hideous DEMON SPAWN!! AARRGGH!! Sweet mother of mercy, help me!! Its devouro\ing my liver!!!

Taste- A sweet half natural half artificial tasting drink, which is a good hybrid if you ask me. Its not strawberry, its not cherry, its not raspberry. But what it is, is delicious. Radioactive

This drink has been on my wishlist for quite sometime. Energy drinks like this is what makes me keep collecting.

Taste- When the drink is called radioactive, you know you got a winner! It says it glows in the dark so I took the drink poured it in a glass, let it sit in the light and took it to the basement. But nope neither the can or the drink started glowing. I want to say red bull clone but I cant at all, actually its more of a rockstar flavor but not as good. (I love original rockstar) and it doesn't look as radioactive as I thought it would. Some drinks out there look like ghostbuster slime.

Xenergy: Melon Mayhem

Didn't think they still used this clashy old can design. But this is one of the two new xenergy flavors. These drinks have always been mediocre to me, lets see how these new ones stack up.

Taste- It hits you hard! Its mayhem for sure! An intense melon flavor that tastes good but only for a split second then fades into a bunch of different sugar free harsh artificial tasting flavors. I'm known for having a weird palate for energy drinks but its good in a bad way. Killer Buzz: Sugar Free

Taste- A hard hit drink, but not too much to handle. Its got a little of the apple taste which is what makes the perfect energy drink according to me. (that's how I should judge these red bull and monster clones from now on). The original I could swear was just like monster but this tastes nothing like sugar free monster, but more like SF red bull. Marley's Mellow Mood: Citrus

Now if you guys didn't know. Marley's mellow mood is my most popular review with almost 22,000 views, mainly because its the easiest energy heaven link to find on google (I think). So lets see if this flavor can get more views and comments.

Taste- I know the distinct flavor difference between sierra mist, sprite and 7up and this drink is identical to sprite. Most peoples first words after trying this will be.. Hmm tastes just like sprite. I'm not a big lemon lime citrus fan, its actually my least favorite pop flavor because its just too boring. And I feel the same about this although there is nothing wrong with it at all.

RATING- 6.5/10

Sluzz- Perfect time to use a relaxation drink! Its 4:24 pm Saturday and Ive been partying (sober of course) since 9 o clock last night with 3 BFC's in my system. That's the MOST energy drink Ive ever had at once. Since the BFC cans are 1.50 at big lots we got like 10 of them. But anyway I got 2 hours of sleep but I'm using this to sleep until about 11 because its hard to fall asleep in the middle of the day regardless. But these always work, according to every other reader also. Not sure if this is the new blend or just for this drink but they reduced the blend dramatically. Before we had 211 mgs now we only have 41 and they cut out kava kava and added melatonin. Also with Valerian, lemon balm, chamomile, hops and passion flower. This will not do anything and it isn't. Its not even enough for one 41mgs ingredient each to have an effect. This drink is now just a marketing gimmick.

So my friend Avery Hage over at addictedtocaffeine.com notified me I'm just one rating above him on the blog top sites and I'm over 75 spots down from caffeineaholic (some blog Ive never even heard of) and my old time pal possessedbycaffeine.com has 5 more reviews than me. Ive kept my head out of the game too long. Its time to get those ratings up! Will you guys help me?!

Taste- First of all this drink is the shit because it says stay pure on the back! This is very natural tasting which I have no problem with. It wasn't made to taste like a sugary pop so if your buying it you really shouldn't care either. I would compare it to the V8 drink that has half veggies and half fruit but if you but more veggies. There isn't any in here but its orangeish and just reminds me of it with some carbonation.

RATING-4/10

Buzz- I wish we had healthy decent priced drinks like these for sale around here. Big up on this new ingredient to me and for keeping it pure!

Wired: Strawberry Lemonade

All these reviews are keeping my reader levels up. Well at least they were until they stopped being interesting.

Taste- This ones actually carbonated and tastes pretty damn snashzy. But there is always something keeping it from being perfect and here its that darn vitamin powder taste which is particularly not good in a lemonade drink. But I would say this drink is still refreshing and has a nice mix of the two flavors without being overly sweet.

RATING-7.5/10

Buzz- Was not expecting this from wired. I assumed it would be some crazy bad ass blend like all the other wired drinks Ive had. This is just insulting to the company. 50 mgs inositol. 47 mgs caffeine. 27 mgs taurine. 20 mgs niacin. 5 mgs vitamin B6. 90 mgs vitamin B12 and 5 mgs pantothenic acid. What is this a vitamin water with a ton of vitamin B12?

Nuclear: Mango Guava

I apologize guys. I thought I reviewed all the nuclear drinks but I missed this one and I actually drank it awhile ago. Thats a big no no but its the first time Ive done that. I just have so many drinks to review this summer its crazy.

Taste- Im going to try my best to remember. Its was very juicy like it had actual mango guava juice in it and wasnt too bad with the sugar free taste. But I seriously drank this like a month ago so Im not even certain.

RATING-6.5/10

Buzz- I see it has taurine first, caffeine then glucuronolactone in the ingredients but it only mentions 90% rda vitamin B3. 240% B6 80% B12 and 45% pantothenic acid.

Red Rain

Been waiting for someone to trade me this drink for awhile. Had all of them but the original. Didn't think I would get it from California though.

Taste- Ive had so many Red bull imitation drinks they're all starting to taste the same to me, but I would say red rain is one of the closest drinks to the actual red bull. Has kind of a rougher flavor which I like sometimes.

Buzz- Vitamin B3 80% rda. 70% B6. 70% niacin and just 4% B12 (wtf is that?)

Max Velocity: Sugar Free

Hello readers! I decided to put pizza in this review to make it more interesting for you since this is probably one of the least cared about drinks I will review.

Taste- Well the pizza was okay. It was papa johns 4 cheese. Now I hate papa johns and I hate authentic pizza even more. Don't call me ignorant just yet, I work at a authentic Italian restaurant called macianos and I know how to make it good. You make it fattening and American like domino's. Now my opinions on the drink; shitty sugar free red bull clone.

Buzz- Pizza gave me more of a buzz than the drink.

Like I said with zun your going to be seeing a lot of these brain drinks now and Ive already reviewed two others since then. I picked this one up at loglis before my bike ride.

Taste- Kind of like carbonated tang. I wouldn't doubt that they use a powder to make this, and it probably comes in a single powder form also. Its not they great but hey, I'm sure taste is not what brought you to drink it.

RATING-6/10

Buzz- What to drink when you want to think. It only contains 100 mgs caffeine, 50% rda vitamin E, B6 and B12 and a special ingredient called cognizin which does so many things for your brain that I can even begin to describe so here is the official website with the information http://www.cognizin.com/science.html

Lifeguard

I love drinks like this! Totally obscure rare drinks that your not sure if its 100% safe to drink. Apparently this drink has been out for 25 years and its not considered a energy drink but a bionic drink. Don't know what that means but its Asian and I'm sure they put a bunch of crazy things in here to give you that perfect zen.

Taste-Nothing like I expected. Its a goopy green looking color but is actually has a thin refreshing feel with a crisp flavorful taste. Kinda similar to hansons pro but more of a bubble gum pop taste. Not bad at all!

RATING-9/10

Buzz- Its completely in Japanese so I had to actually test it out. I played a nice game of basketball got really tired then chugged this. I don't know if it was my body or this but I was on my feet again within minuets ready to go. I know for sure it didn't give me the typical hardcore buzz like monsters and amps and those kind of drink do but like I said I'm sure this has A LOT of natural herbs and vitamins. I mean Asians are the ones who discovered a lot of them like ginseng and ginko biolba.

Max Velocity: Berry Pomegranate - Sugar Free

Left my cans in the back seat for one day and they are destroyed. I should be more careful with my collector drinks. Especially the ones I cant get around here.

Taste- Like I said last week; Ive had so many sugar free berry drinks lately and I know how they are all going to taste. This one came along just to prove me wrong, not that its good but it doesn't have the splenda fake berry taste. Drinks like that they just try to hard, usually to appeal to the female crowd. This is just a cheap drink where they didn't give a fuck, but it tastes just like any dulled out flavor just not bitter and too nasty. Quite the opposite with the vitamin dust taste.

ThinkQ: Citricity

Brain fuel. Hydration. Electrolyte balance. Mood enhancement. Stress relief. Stamina. Now this, is what I call an energy drink!

Taste- Its thick on the palate which goes nice this the carbonation. Its almost like if sunny d was all natural (yeah right) and carbonated this would be it. Its made with cane sugar and fruit juice only for color. Which makes sense. Much better than the berry, but this aint no pop.

RATING-6/10

Buzz- I really like where energy drink are going. Wired: B12 Rush - Diet

I still don't have my own camera, I still use my moms phone haha. I got so bored at home all by my lonesome I had to grab a drink and review it. I would just use pictures off the Internet every time but then you guys wouldn't believe that a actually had that drink.

Taste- So bad you cant even take full drinks, you have to sip on it. Its got a strong carbonation with a very strong artificial berry taste that I'm getting very sick of. Its the flavor for so many drinks now. This one doesn't say berry but if you ever see a sugar free berry drinks avoid it like the plague. They are never good.

RATING-3.5/10

Buzz- There is nothing in this drink that will matter except the retarded high level of vitamin B12. Usually company's give you 80% rda, this one has 3000%. That like wayyy too much of a good thing but its probably too much for your body to process at one time and vitamin B isn't like caffeine or taurine; its stored in your body and keeps your natural energy levels healthy, and I'm certain we all have enough of it. We can even get enough from eating meat twice a day. We also have 20 mgs B3. 5 mgs B6 and pantothenic acid. 50 mgs inositol. 47 mgs caffeine and 27 mgs taurine. I will give it points for having a crazy amount of B12, but more than likely it wont effect you unless your body has been shy of  vitamin B for awhile and for that would have to be vegan.

Nuclear: Cherry Limeade - Sugar Free

Still on these bullshit nuclear drinks.. Do I always sound this negative in my reviews?

Taste- A lot of these drinks Ive been reviewing Ive enjoyed a lot more on ice. Maybe its because its summer or maybe they are just better on the rocks. I can say for certain sugar free drinks like this are 10x better and more refreshing on ice. Its more crisp and refreshing and makes the perfect summer drink to sip on. But by itself you really don't even want it.

Re Up: Sugar Free

I love the idea of using a product for charity but not when you have to cut the quality dramatically.

Taste- First off id like to mention its not even a real label, its just like a shrink wrap thing that's not even on the can. The taste is so bad. Everything wrong with a red bull clone this drink has. Its chalky, its bitter, its dry and you can taste the artificial sweetener over it all.

RATING-2.5/10

Buzz- Not a typical red bull blend. I'm impressed you navy bastards. Maybe you do own the seas.1150 mgs taurine, caffeine, glucuronolactone and gaurana. Most of that I guarantee you is taurine and 87 mgs of it is caffeine. For vitamins we have 8 mgs thiamin (500% rda very nice) 2 mgs riboflavin. 20 mgs vitamin B6. 2 mgs niacin. 400 mgs folic acid. 30 mgs vitamin B12 (500% rda very nice!!) and 10 mgs pantothenic acid. Wired: Lemonade

Slowly but surely finishing these California reviews. I was gone for a week to a music festival where I found 6 more drinks that I have to review. At least I'm not at a dry spell again. Its either nothing for a long time or a bunch of drinks at once.

Taste-Just your average tasting artificial lemonade. There is so much of a different taste between fresh squeezed lemonade made with real sugar and this crap made with artificial flavoring HFCS and about 10 unnatural ingredients including one that is known to be addictive and another that can be considered a poison.

ThinQ: Berry

I was mistaken. This was the drink I went all over the walmarts to find not zun. But I was at walmart last night shopping for this week long music festival called cornerstone and my friend pointed it out.

Taste- I think you could take purple hand soap and use it as a syrup and it would taste the same. Ive had soap in my mouth before and the lingering after taste is just like it with some mixed berry scent.. I mean flavor, and the drink isnt even sugar free.

RATING-3/10

Zun: Lite

Taste- As soon as I open the can I could smell how awesome this drink was going to be. It had a blue bubble gum smell and taste without tasting sugar free at all. In my head I was saying I'm going to give this a ten for sure, but a drink has to be absolutely perfect tasting for that and it was a tincy bit lite on flavor but that's a definite exception for being so good and how low on sugar it was. Better than the original and I like how it was a totally different flavor.

RATING-9.5/10

Buzz- A brain boosting drink. I would buy these on the regular if I could. I love the idea of enhancing your mind naturally to think and feel more clearly. Most energy drinks take the route with vitamins and caffeine that affect your body more than mind and kind of are just blah. There needs to be more drinks like this.415 mgs CoQ10 (a natural substance in your body that turns food into energy) choline (again, something already in your body. A chemical in your brain that helps your concintration) and taurine. With 75 mgs caffeine and 70% rda vitamins E,C,B12 and B6. We could have more ingridients here but drinks like these would end up costing 7 dollars a can. Too bad they will never make them because I would buy them! This drink gets points for being one of the few drinks of its kind and hopefully the start of something new. But it fails on the amount of mgs. Still enough to have an effect for sure, but there could be so much more!

I remember when I saw an ad for these at walmart so I got bored  one night and drove about 25 miles or more to all 4 walmarts in my hometown to see if they carried them and not one store had them. Talk about a waste of time and money.

Taste- Light but still flavorful, refreshing and still unique. Its not BAM BEST NEW DRINK but its a good flavor for what its trying to go for. Vety hard to describe, its not a fruit flavor and it doesnt taste like a typical soda flavor. The best I could describe it is it taste just like the color which is lite pink.

Go Fast: Berry

I think of go fast so many times a' day just because I have a go fast key chain that I see so much. I really wish they were available around were I live.

Taste- Your average stevia flavored berry drink. Not that you guys would know because you havnt tried 900 different ones but its not too bad. It has more honey than stevia but you cant taste it. The drink should really be sweeter especially since its berry. If this was completely sugar free I could give it more kudos but it has 12 grams of sugar and tastes more sugar free than some 0 calorie drinks Ive had.

SK Energy Shot Review

Cost: 2.99 Cost Per Ounce:$1.18Active Ingredients:Malic Acid, Caffeine, B-VitaminsTaste Rating:8.6Kick Rating:8.8Final Judgment Rating:8.7Energy Drink Ratings ExplainedSK Energy Shot Review:

So this new"ish" energy shot... ok not really new at all as it was introduced over a year ago in 2011. I have actually been meaning to review this ever since I heard that SK, formerly known as "Street King" energy shot was being pushed by none other than 50 Cent. Sounded logical, I mean 50 cent has had pretty good success with Vitamin Water so why not dive head first into the energy shot market??? But then how do you take on the market leader, 5-hour Energy? Well it seems that SK's approach was find a celebrity, add a touch of charity (1 energy shot = 1 meal for a hungry child) and then claim one more hour of energy (6 vs. 5). So how well has it done? To date it looks like they have given away 3.5 million meals through the The World Food Programme. It also looks like they are softening the name as well. SK sounds much better than Street King when you have a philanthropic note right on the top of your energy shot... Anyways, I am not really here to judge how their marketing or sales are going, really just here two give my 2 cents on Taste and Kick.

SK Energy Shot Review: TasteFirst off SK comes in two flavors Grape and Orange Mango, both of which come in a larger than industry average (2 ounce) 2.5 ounce a. Maybe that's where they get the extra hour of claimed energy??? Instead of doing two separate flavor/taste reviews like I have done in the past on the over 450 + reviews... I am just going to lump the two together in this one review. Grape... well, guess what it tastes like grape; albeit a watered down slightly powdery grape. You know sort of like when you drink a Gatorade, then you go to a race (e.g. 5k, 10k, marathon) and they give you that ready mix version. Sure it tastes like Gatorade, but it's watered down and has a slightly odd taste that is hard to describe. Anyways, SK Energy does a much better job on the Orange Mango flavor. Much more of a tropical blend that is less watered down medicinal tasting. So if you are going to give SK a try, I personally recommend the Orange Mango, but that's just my two cents. Taste Rating (combined Grape and Orange Mango) - 8.6

SK Energy Shot Review: KickSo almost 25% more shot than the Market Leader and you get one extra hour of claimed energy... not too bad considering they are roughly the same MSRP. But does it actually deliver... extra 0.5 ounces or not? Well the energy drink ingredients include the following; Malic Acid, Caffeine, Sodium Citrate and Citicoline for a total "Rebel Energy Blend" of 464 milligrams. Compare that to the market leaders non "rebel" energy blend of 1870 milligrams and you get... pretty much absolutely nothing as the energy blends are nothing alike. What is alike is that SK Energy seems to have taken the same stance as the market leader and states that the caffeine is comparable to a cup of premium coffee. So, how's the damn kick already??? Well to be honest I wasn't floored. It is not the strongest energy drink I have ever tried, nor is it the strongest energy shot. It does the job, but is pretty standard when it comes to energy shots. Kick Rating - 8.8

SK Energy Shot Review: Final JudgmentDecent taste, decent price and kick is decent. All in all a decent product. The 1 energy shot = 1 meal for a hungry child is a nice philanthropic touch too. It also doesn't seem readily available. I have been all over the Midwest and Nortwest US recently and have yet to bump into one. SK will definitely carve itself a nice little niche in the market, but I don't think it is superior to the current market leader. But that's just my two cents. Final Judgment - 8.7

Golazo Energy Drink

Energy Drink Ratings Explained

Golazo Energy Drink Review:
Well I have been sitting on these samples of Golazo Energy for some time so I might as well let everyone know MHO about the Futbol inspired energy drink. Golazo, meaning "super goal" in Spanish is supposed to be introducing new sports hydration flavors in 2012, but as of now it comes in both regular and sugar free "original" versions in a pretty typical 12 ounce can. Headquartered in Seattle and manufactured in Portland with only high-quality ingredient list containing no artificial or genetically-engineered (GMO) ingredients does set Golazo apart from most of the competition. Another thing that sets Golazo apart is the Energy + Hydration claims. The hydration just comes in the form of electrolytes, 125 milligrams to be exact in a 12 ounce can which is comparable to the electrolytes in an an 8 ounce serving of Gatorade. So caffeine and electrolytes...?? Anyways, on with the review of Golazo.

Golazo Energy Drink Review: Taste
First off the claims by Golaza regarding taste are as follows: "Latin-inspired Mango-Limón flavor." While I definitely taste the "limon", I don't see too much mango taste coming from either the original or sugar free versions. While there is a slightly bitter aftertaste, it really is not too noticeable. It does seem to have a slight bitter aftertaste, somewhat similar to Kronik Energy Drink. With either 90 calories total for the original or 10 for the sugar-free version, the taste is on par with most of the competition but not at the top of my list. However, taste is subjective, so to each their own and the sugar free and original versions are comparative in taste. Taste Rating - 8.2

Golazo Energy Drink Review: Kick
Each can of Golazo Energy drinks has roughly 100 milligrams of natural caffeine (Guarana) along with a decent dose of b-vitamins and Yerba Mate. Overall the kick in a 12 ounce can of Golazo would be on par...maybe slightly more than an 8 ounce can of Redbull. Not one of the strongest energy drinks on the market but I don't think that is the market they are after. With the combination of hydration in the form of electrolytes I would almost put this in the functional beverage market. Either way decent kick... Kick Rating 8.5.

Golazo Energy Drink Review: Final Judgment
While Golazo is not going to be making my list of Best Energy Drinks I do have to say the addition of electrolytes is a nice touch. While two of the major three (Monster and Rockstar) have also started incorporating electrolytes into their beverages, I always find it refreshing to find a smaller start up take on something a little different. Check them out on their website or growing Golazo Nation on Facebook. Final Judgement - 8.4
